何か久しぶり…

Yes, I know it’s been a while since I last wrote anything for this blog… Or rather, anything that has nothing to do with me wishing everyone a happy <insert festival>… This time, I shall try something stupid: I shall try to write most of this post in my mediocre moonspeak. Why? It’s just a test to myself. My command of the language is not that good, but at least I’m trying to improve myself. So here’s a simple statement, not a threat, not a warning, just a simple statement; No flames. But I guess by simply saying that, I’m just attracting them. Oh well, there’s always the “delete”, “mark as spam” and “unapprove” functions.

さ~て、始まりましょうか。

Busou Shinki Light Armor Series Wave 1: Werkstra & Valona

Well, I have a confession(it isn’t a confession if you know me well enough). I like mecha musume, in particular the Busou Shinki(武装神姫) line of figures. A while back, Konami announced a line of Light Armor Shinkis that had less armor. In my mind, I thought of 2 things:

1) Less armor means less armor bits, so this means it’ll be easier to fiddle around with them.
2) Less parts means it’ll cost less to manufacture.

I learned the hard way that both of these mean nothing on pricing, because I still paid the same price for them as I did for my normal heavier armored Shinkis…

Well, I didn’t really have my hopes up for them, because I seriously doubted that I could get my hands on them. Fortunately, Uncle Ng‘s store at Wheellock Place(Dollz Inc.) proved me wrong. And so, I now present to you, the first wave of the new Busou Shinki Light Armor Series: Werkstra & Valona! (Forgive me for having lousy pictures, since my camera is only 3.2 megapix and absolute shit)

Well, for this round of reviews, I thought about using a makeshift backdrop to see how it’s like. Fortunately, my backdrop is thin, so I can still make use of lighting from the lights on the ceiling in front of my desk(unfortunaely, no actual source of lighting exists above my desk). However, I have learnt NOT to try to take pictures during the day when it’s cloudy.

Figure Releases #5

Well, some new news, and some updates on previously unconfirmed news.

First up, the most important piece of news. Kotobukiya’s Kousaka Tamaki -Temptation- is scheduled for a March release for 8,400円.

Fap to your heart’s content. News via Kotobukiya’s page on her.

Next up, Bandai Bender division is coming out with Lucky Star figures as part of their figure MEISTER line of figures.

Not bad, in my opinion. But you have your own. They’ll be released in Febuary next year for 6,720円 for the whole set. Info from AmiAmi’s page on this.

Last but not least, Konami’s 2nd wave of Light Armor Series Busou Shinki goes on sale in Japan today. Hopefully, I can pick these girls up at AFA. But for now I’ll have to be satisfied with getting the first wave from a local store, chipping away at my budget for AFA…

Bye bye money… These girls are retailing for 2,900円 each. News via 4Gamer.net.

And that’s it for this issue of Figure Releases!

‘Tis the Age of Minitures

Well, this is good news for budgeted figure collectors who like chibi figures but can’t afford Nendoroids…

Konami is going to release a series of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Figumates… While not a fan of Gurren, I thought these looked interesting. The whole thing is going to be split into 2 volumes.

News from Dengeki Online’s News page, volume listings available there as well.
